Why is iMovie Not Showing Video?

Why won't my Imovie work?

  • Well i got a macbook a few years ago and recently upgraded to imovie 11. But whenever i try to import certain movies from iphoto the movies turn grey. So in the bottom bar where all your imported videos are instead of showing the videos in thumnails its just grey. But when i hover over it, the video plays. This wouldn't be that bad if i could still put in in my project but everytime i try to drag it onto my project it won't let me! i click on the bar and drag it but it just won't import. However i have these other videos on there which are normal and it lets me put them on. I really dont know what to do please help?????
