  • http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/2373/meniss007sh3.jpg Hi all, can someon edit that picture for me in photoshop, by keeping the red bits red, and the rest b&w, by red bits I mean my lips and the parts in my top lol, thanks =] I would do it only I don't have photoshop, I do have gimp though... but I really don't know how to work it properly yet

I think I have to agree with answerer "Andy"; the original photo is the best. Black and White doesn't do you justice. Anyway, here's an attempt at what you requested: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2261/1977846745_b9881e14be_o.jpg

http://www.tsa.hk/meniss007sh3.jpg Im not very good at Photoshop and this was a first doing this sort of thing, hope you like it. You look real pretty in the photo as well. Edit: Im afraid the parts in your top is a bit beyond someone like me so I left them out.

I did the lip's part in a few second's, hair takes much longer. I did this in Photoshop 7, by going up to Image>Mode>Grayscale, then saving it. I then brought the original back out into the workspace, and used the Magnetic Lasso Tool to trace around the lips, went up to Edit, and scrolled down to Copy, click. I then brought the grayscale image out into the workspace, went up to Image, and clicked on Mode again, then on RGB. I now have the original image, and the grayscale converted to RGB, out in the workspace. The Grayscale convert is activated,(meaning the it's the one that can be 'worked' on). I went up to Edit again, then down to Paste. This put the red lips on the grayscale,(converted back to RGB), image. I went to the Tool Menu, chose the Move Tool, and placed the red lips on the grayscale image, and up to Layers, down to Flatten Image, click. I used the Clone Stamp Tool to touch the lips up a bit around the edges. Started to do the hair, but it's more involved, thought I'd wait, and do it later. Guess what? I'm not smart enough to send it through YahooAnswers! So I thought I'd just tell you how I did it in Photoshop, and see if you can transfer this to the Gimp. I'd download Gimp, and try it out, to be able to tell people how to do it, but a year ago I did. Everyone in the world started asking me questions, and I hadn't answered any! Gimp has no direct support, since it's free/shareware, and depends on it's user's to support each other. I deleted it a year+ ago, and still get email! I'll answer your questions though, to try to transfer Photoshop knowledge to Gimp, since Gimp is patterned after Photoshop.
