Home Recording Software?

What's the best home recording studio software?

  • I'm on windows xp, i've heard logic 8 is really good but seeing as i'm not a mac user i think that's out of the question. i want something that is easy enough to use, allows me to layer vocals and mess around with pitch and rhythm and that sort of thing. i don't really have any experience with recording studio software but i'm a fast learner and don't want something i'm going to get bored with!

  • Answer:

The most expensive one... (And I'm not joking, here...) You get what you pay for, when it comes to recording software...

Start with downloading Audigy sound editor for free and see what you can do with it. If you want to do Midi sequencing then Cubasis or Cakewalk should be challenging enough.

My husband uses protools... When he was younger I think he used cakewalk (or something like that?) but protools is best... I think?
