Is Limewire bad for laptops?

Is limewire actually bad?

  • for awhile, we had limewire. and then the sound on the computer stoped working. We thought it was limewire but it wasn't, but the guy that came to our house to fix our computer said: limewire is bad and it can mess up your computer. Is that true? Because, i really miss limewire and i want to prove to my parents that it is safe from viruses.

    Limewire isnt bad, its the virus programs running on it.. I recently downloaded some things on limewire but I put in a different hard disk temporarily and ran the latest virus program at the same time. Im a computer tech so I know how to look at file sizes etc to make a good guess whether the file is a virus. They label things you download as what your looking for but its not that its a virus... Any 197 KB file or low count file is a virus.... Anyway my virus program found at least 15 virus attempts on that many occasions.. These people on here that say they have used it for years and it is safe, have no idea whats roaming around in their computer. Unless they have had a good updated antivirus and stayed on top of it. Soon they will be posting question as to why their computer doesn't work... BUT DONT LISTEN TO ANY OF US...

It is safe, but everytime you download something always scan it for viruses because you never know what people might do.

no. my cousin had limewire on her computer for 2 years. maybe YOUR computer doesn't have enough memory to keep running limewire. but it works fine on MY computer and my cousins.

See LimeWire isnt that bad. to protect urself u should turn on ur firewall. but still u have to be careful downloading files. some files r viruses. always after downloading scan the file .if there is virus vipe it out frm the computer and so u can have a virus free pc

just be careful if you have windows because it's pretty easy to accidnety download viruses. macs rule!

iv had lime wire for 4 years and nothing wrong wiht it its awsome place to downlaod music its a 100% safe. good luck hope this helps
