How can i make my font big without it being bold?

I want to send an Adobe PDF using a fancy font. How can I make sure it displays for the person receiving it?

• I have the fancy font on my computer, but the receiving person doesn't have that font. I thought that making a PDF would "preserve" all of the design elements, but the fancy font defaults at their end to Times Roman. Do I have to make the text into a gif or jpg in order to make it transfer within the PDF? Or is there an Adobe button I haven't pushed. I'm using PDFWriter inside MS Word in Office97.
