How does Apple market their products?

Why is apple always ahead of windows in their products eventhough Microsoft dominates 90% of the market?

  • I always notice that apple's products run smotth without problems or bugs where as in when using windows you have to download patches and complicated stuff. Also apple's products always have groundbeaking products and OSs which run smooth without stuttering unlike windows.

  • Answer:

It goes back to when Microsoft was founded. Bill Gates and Paul Allen sold DOS to IBM, but retained the rights to it. They then sold it to other computer makers and so you could share products designed for Microsoft's operating systems, but Apple users couldn't use them (at least not until several months or years later when they made an Apple edition of the software). So, Microsoft dominated the market share of the industry and people have just remained loyal because of it.

admittedly Microsoft is very successful in "usability" and it has a large number of fans around the world Apple Mackintosh has a high class product but also a high class prices Believe me Guy Linux is the best it's free and very powerful OS

Haven't you figured out by now that all MS does is copy other companies' programs, rename it, and then make it easier to use. Just look at every single MS product, and you'll see that it's just a rip-off of another product. Windows is a rip-off of the Apple's OS. Excel is just a rip-off of Lotus 1-2-3. The Xbox 360 is just a rip-off of the Playstation 2/Playstation 3.

I work with both. Trust me the Macs have just as many problems and cost twice as much. In fact if you throw in the networking issues, they have more problems.

It is really quite simple, Windows will work on ANY computer built which can be hundreds of different components and we as customers assume it will just work flawless with whatever we throw at it. Apple controls what hardware it can run therefore reducing how much they have to worry about it working. I bet if you managed to install OS X on a PC you would start to find tons of issues cause it was not designed for that. I prefer the MAC because it works so well with the hardware. The OS is very stable and I like it much much more than windows. But I do understand why Microsoft has these kinds of questions. All this and I still have not mentioned the virus and spyware stuff(it has been said enough).

Just Bored!!

becaus windows emphisis is on Business. Apple emphisis is on the home user. Also, apple's hardware is proprietory. so they are expensive to buy compared to the entire industry which is compatible with Windows and not Apple.... If at work you use Microsoft Word, your gonna get a PC cause you don't want any compatibility issues... (thought now MAC's can run Windows)

Apple has a smaller market share, and can afford to be more precise in their approach. MS's own success has been their undoing, They have to deal with the entire world's demands, and everybody wants something different, which has led to a cobbled-together set of products, loosely and badly integrated into a single bundle which doesn't really please anyone.

I don't know why less than 10% of the population uses macs. I suppose it's because businesses all use Windows and people are afraid of change. Actually, I hope it remains this way because the mac community doesn't have to worry about viruses, but we still have all we need in terms of software and accessories.

I love my apple , but there are some things they are not set up for but on the whole they are better I dont think I'll go back.

Consider the fact that Apple designs their own computer hardware and you have your answer. Microsoft's OS is designed to run on a plethora of computer hardware. In that kind of structured environment, they can devote their time to making sure their software works great with the hardware. This makes it easier for Apple to maintain a quality software suite for their particular brand of hardware. If Microsoft designed their own proprietary hardware, I'm sure that their software would show less stability issues.
