Please, help me with windows live messenger.

Windows Live Messenger HELP PLEASE!?

• Ok, so essetially a few weeks ago, i attempted to sign into windows live messenger and got the error code Error: 81000378, 'can not retrieve contact list at this time'. after having this problem for several days, i decided to uninstall then re-download windows live messenger, however after i uninstalled, and went to the website to download (the official website) i click to download windows live messenger and i get 'Internet Explorer cannot display this page' error, and i have not been able to download windows live messenger from them. I have also got the downloader from another computer, attempted it on my computer and it can not run the install and hence can not download/install windows live messenger. I downloaded and earlier version (8.5 i think) and when i attempt to sign in i must update, i click to do so, and it says 'Windows Live Messenger could not download and verify the update file'. when i run the troubleshooting, i can not connect to the '.Net MessengerService' there are ticks next to everything except DNS and Key Ports which have the exclamation mark. Does anyone know how to resolve this DNS/Key Ports problem, so that i may download the latest version of windows live messenger?
