How do I completely disable Microsoft Outlook?

Kaspersky Mail Checker Add-In Problems With Office Outlook 2007?

  • I recently uninstalled Kaspersky Anti-Virus. Now, when I open Outlook 2007, I get the Microsoft Office Outlook pop up that says "The Add-in "Kaspersky Mail Checker" (C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0\mcou.dll) cannot be loaded and has been disabled by Outlook. Please contact the Add-in manufacturer for an update. If no update is available, please uninstall the Add-in." I emailed Kaspersky, but get no response. I searched for the mcou.dll, but cannot find it. Likewise, I can't find anything Kaspersky related when I do a search of my hard drive. It appears it has been completely removed. How do I disable this pop-up?

Had the same problem with Outlook 2007 and the Kaspersky Addin. Open up Outlook 2007>tools>trust center>add-ins...At the bottom of the menu you'll see "manage" and in the drop down box select "Exchange Client Extensions" then "GO" and simply uncheck the "Kaspersky Mail Checker" then "OK"....No more of that pesky/persky error after that...:-) :-) I'll be the first to admit in Outlook 2007 the addin interface took some getting used to.

Try deleting extend.dat from the folder location below: C:>Documents and Settings>User Name>Local Settings>Application Data>Microsoft>Outlook and then delete extend.dat or Go to start > run, type in %appdata% and then enter. Go to Microsoft > Outlook Delete extend.dat My source speaks of AVG, but it's the same for any Outlook 2007 add-in.
