How to add subtitles to divx files?

How to add subtitles into divx movie files? i have the .sub file?

  • i've downloaded a divx avi file, and along with and .sub subtitle file. how to combine them together in order to show the subtitles?

    I know something that might help. Download and install a software called dvd lab pro. You can use it to add subtitles to a divix file that has been converted to dad files.Then you will have to burn it to a dvd.Now you canvert the file to dvd with the convert subtitle also option. THis is what i know.If you know anything extra please email me.

There are many methods, but the quickest and easiest that I can think of is if you have Windows Media Player 10 installed, then simply make sure that your subtitle (.sub) file is in the same directory (folder) as your .avi file. Then simply right click on the .avi and select "Open with..." then choose Media player as your option. You should then see the subtitles appear when the file plays. I am assuming that you have the proper codecs installed to play the file in the first place. If not try "www.cole2k.net" and download the "standard" codec pack available in the upper left section of the site. Just download and install, that may solve potential problems as well. But make sure you uninstall any codecs or codec packs you have first to prevent further problems. If neither of these methods work then you may have to re-encode the file yourself.
