You can d/l Winrar from many sites. It will tell you that you need to register it after a certain period (meaning PAY for it!!), but I've been using it for more than 6 years, I just click "close" on the idiot reminder to register it, and continue to use it.

RAR is a special type of file compression. It is openeable by WinRAR from RARLabs. I don't think you have any freeware. However, you can try using http://www.media-convert.com/ to convert RAR to a normal zip which has a lot of freeware utilities.

maybe you use 7zip software. this software is free you can download it from http://www.7-zip.org/ after installations you open you rar file use "open with" and choose 7zip manager and extract that file to the folder what you want
