Is it possible to increase the size of an image in gimp, but have it pixelate rather than blur?
-
i want to make a minecraft texture pack. a HD one. i figured the easiest way to do this, is take minecraft's default textures, increase the size, and use it as a template so i know where in terrain file to put each texture. now, the problem is, when increase the size of the terrain file in gimp, it blurs, making it difficult to tell where the edges are. this could of course be solved by doing each texture in order, starting with one in a corner, but i dont work well like that. can i increase the size, but make it pixelated rather than blurring?

Answer:
Yes it is, totally possible!!! In GIMP click Image > Scale Image > set Interpolation "None". Input your new size, hit Scale. By the way there is no such thing as an HD image. HD is a video format, nothing to do with still images whatsoever.
