Why cannot I print a whole page?

Microsoft Office: why oh why does it suddenly insert a page break when I press print?

  • Why does it insert a page break in the middle of the text when I press print?? I get the layout perfect (no page breaks), then I save it and then I press print. It then inserts a page break and prints the doc out with the page break in it. The page break also now reappears on screen (I saw this happen right in front of my own eyes!!!). Then I have to delete the page break AGAIN and it then reinserts it AGAIN when I press print AGAIN!?!?! What is causing this?? How can I get rid of it?? I can't even trust what I see on the screen to be the same as what is printed out!!!! I'm going round in circles!!!!!!

Hello, B.O.B I know naff all about computers but that's never stopped me chiming in on a computer related question - PLUS, my friend, I have had a psychic vision concerning this particular problem and I believe I have a solution: Try doing a "restore factory settings" on your pooter, from a time just before these weird occurrences began.... Dah daaah! What d'you think? Gotta be worth a try, hasn't it? Providing you save everything precious beforehand, you certainly won't lose anything by giving this procedure a whirl. Good luck!

My dear, please follow these steps: 1. Scream, and screw up paper. 2. Say "F***ing Microsoft!" three times whilst pulling your own hair. 3. Wrench printer from socket and throw "ironically" out of the "window". 4. Attack PC with mallet. 5. Pour self large glass of gin and drink. Hope this helps.

This may be a little more difficult to answer without being able to see exactly what you mean. it may be that your font is slightly too large to fit on one page. . try changing the margins (in office 12, the side rulers that make that easy are disabled by default. there's a small button above the vertical scrollbar to show the ruler) if nothing else works, you could try copying it into a new document, without formatting (you could also save it as a plain text doc (*.txt) )

Possibly because you are using CtrlP to print? If so, you are probably not noticing that you are using the Enter key when you click on Ctrl which would of course give you a page break. Have your checked your settings, you may have set to A4 in Word, but have you checked that your printer settings are also set to A4?

This rests on your interpretation of the word 'perfection'. Microsoft Office has a different interpretation, and I'm afraid that as MO talks to your printer directly and not you, as far as your printer is concerned MO is God. Give up now, and bow down before it O ye mighty.

What do you mean press "print"? Do you mean you click on the icon of a printer? Does it mean that you click on "File, Print"? Does it mean you have a key on your keyboard that says "print", and you press that key? If so, there is no such key on most keyboards, so Microsoft Office has no way to know what that key means. Try doing "File, Print" from the toolbar at the top. ------------------------------------ Well then, since you want to give very little information and get uptight when someone ask you for more, because you are so good at this, then you figure it out.
