Why does my gta crash?

GTA IV PC version on steam crash (xlive.dll?)?

• I have the steam version of GTA IV and when i try to launch it "Encounters an error and needs to close" etc etc... i tried to play im compatability mode for XP SP2 (im on vista home basic) to no avail... When i try to run it out of my steam folder instead of steam games menu it gives the error "xlive.dll was not found" PC specs: ASUS m2n sli AM2 socket mobo EVGA 8800 GT 512mb AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ BE OC @ 3.0GHz 4gb g-skill Pi ddr2 800 4-4-4-12@ 1.9V XClio 600Watt PSU LG BD-ROM/DVDRW Seagate Barracuda 250GB w/ windows vista home basic

  Please Download and install http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=98609 its the fix for xlive.dll error! OK Buddy? :o)
