Why is my limewire slow?

• i have windows vista, and its a fast laptop, i have the new version of limewire, but it takes ages and ages to download a song! on some of my friends laptops its just like 20 seconds you have to wait! but mine is like 2 minutes sometimes! helpp mee!

  First of all I will tell you that limewire uses too much virtual memory (your computer's live memory that makes it work and display windows) so it will automatically be slower to use. also what is your connection? Do you have dial up, dsl, broadband, cable, or satellite? I'd be happy to completely help you but: I need the information above to help you figure out the issue, but I can say: I reccomend utorrent -it's not really legal, but not really illegal -it's a little difficult, but worth your time (just ask me how to use it) -It's also faster since it is very low on using your computer's resources -It's almost completely anonymous especially if you use btjunkie.com because they hide everything from the download, your history, to your IP address -You can download a whole entire album of music at once -best of all ITS FREE! I have cable internet- that's a download speed about... 5MB/sec I just downloaded The Happening (still in theatures haha) it took me 2 hours I can download complete cd albums in 1-2 min depending on how many programs I am running... All those easy music downloaders like limewire and frostwire have total disadvantages is my opinion- They're slow, more virus prone (since you can't view the health of your download like you can if you were to find a torrent on BTjunkie.com) and a lot of times you can't find the files you can find if you look for torrents.
