Codes for a simple visual basic program.

AVG not allowing hacked codes for program applications - does any free antivirus ware allow the exception?

  • I had to remove AVG antivirus from my pc as it was removing some hacked codes for program applications , my tech said that very few free antivirus applications allowed exceptions- Microsoft Security Essetials fortunately does though its ability as sufficient protection is doubtful in my opinion ( any comments) . Apparently Kapersky allos exceptions for hacked codes without immediately removing them though it is a paid for priduct not free for this option . ANy other free products as good as AVG thats could allow these codes to function ...? My tech guy also said regarding all these antivirus products - the newer types of intrusions get thro the firewall and none of the these products have 100% protection nowadays !

  • Answer:

Avira (http://www.avira.com/en/avira-free-antivirus) has the ability to set an exceptions list that the AV will ignore. After install click the cog beside system scan, then under PC Protection look for System Scanner -> Scan -> Exceptions and just add all the files you would like it to ignore. Hope this works for you.

AVG does have an option for exclusions. Go to Tools->Advanced Settings..->Anti-virus (on the tree at the left)->Resident Shield->Exceptions Since these exceptions can cover entire folders, I'm fairly certain your "codes" (.exe or otherwise) can be added this way.
