How to delete temporary files in MATLAB?

How can I delete index.dat files and IE's temporary internet files *COMPLETELY*?

  • I want an easier way of getting rid of the index.dat files that seem to be chock full of cookies and the 'Temporary Internet Files' folder. There are files in there that are 'super hidden' and always being accessed by some process so I can't remove them. The only way I know how to completely remove these files is to login to another admin account to delete them from the original profile directory... and seems to me the last time I tried that it failed to work on the index.dat files too!! Also I tried ending the explorer.exe process so I could delete them from the cmd window but it failed.

    Those and lots other security issues can easily be fixed by installing and running CCleaner. It can be downloaded and used free.

Look at Microsoft Antispyware which is free from Microsoft and help you to remove index.dat data and all cookies and history information. You should download it at http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/protect/windowsxp/antispy.mspx and you shoul also see an other freeware Spybot - Search & Destroy that can delete index.dat and tempory internet files and a lot of spyware too Finaly with Yahoo! Toolbar with Antispyware you should delete all the tracing cookies too. And of course there is a lot of commercial products like Norton Internet Security or McAfee Privacy Service who do the same (remove tracing cookies, ads, index.dat, temporty internet files...)
