Can Someone help/give me advice on building a PC please?
-
Hi, Everyone! So I am thinking about building my very own PC. I have never done anything like this before other then adding or replacing hardware from towers. So If your experienced in this area, then feel free to give me advice and help out. Before I get started, when giving me advice please be very detailed and explain everything i.e If your talking about a certain hardware, tell me what the hardware does and how good it is compared too its competitors. I am building a PC for mainly Gaming, but for browsing too. So here we go! I haven't purchased anything yet, until I know I have everything so if you see something missing from the list below then tell me also I would like to know if all the parts to the "PC" will go together and support each other. I've also added links to the products to give you all an idea... Answer:
YEs they will! However... First, don't buy the antivirus or the stupid tuneUp thing. Microsoft security essentials is free and works better than any other antivirus I've used. Anything that the tuneup thing has either doesn't work or can be had for free. Try CCleaner if you need to speed up your computer. Your power supply is good, but I would suggest getting a modular one. It makes building the computer SO much easier. The radeon 5770 is outdated. I would suggest getting the 6850. I have that hard drive. It's very reliable so far. You may want to consider an SSD for much more speed. Good luck!

MB is good, I using the REV 3.0 at moment. I find that the pin blocks on ASUS are too slack to use. Plug case wires into MB without the blocks. Be carfull with the pins> Any cheep fast DVD drive. I havent found a bad DVD drive yet. Multi card reader perhaps. I have used that PSU, Its not good. Power drops way down. It all seems fine. the RAM CL9. check that with the MB spec, thought CL5, but I could be wrong. Now have you got a little computer shop you can shop at. I was going to get from amazon plus delivery. So went to my local computer shop and got all the stuff for same price and less. Made £80 savings and got lots of free help. Just a thought. Good building.

The only thing I would comment on is Kaspersky AV. My neighbor had it and found it intrusive and rather "clunky".. First link is to a comparison of popular AV's which is pretty good. Everyone has their faves, I use Avast Pro, but they also have a free version that's among the better/best. Second link is to a site you may (or may not) find helpful... Hope that helps some, anyway!...
