What is a good free video editing program?

What is a good free video editing program I may download?

  • My computer runs on Windows XP and I have been using Windows Media Player. I am looking for a program that is free to download and will let me do things such as have 2 audio tracks one for music and another for a voiceover. Possibly that lets you add sound effects. Just something a little more advanced that Movie Maker but not too in depth, but that is also free.

I think movie maker is the best free movie making software, But to make better slideshows you you need more advanced and professioanl but still user friendly software. I have used a few video editing programs and the easiest one has been DVD Slideshow Builder. Very easy to use with professional features and same sort of layout as Movie Maker however a lot more powerful. http://www.photo-to-dvd.com/photo-gallery-samples.html#150 If your looking for special effects such as light sabers, lasers, running on roof tops then you will need Adobe After Effects very good program that can produce some genuine looking film effects however does take some learning. http://www.adobe.com/products/aftereffects Hope it helps
