How can i start a website?

  • How can I start a website? I need to know from the very first step because i dont know anything! And any ideas on what website i should make? Is it possible for me to have a website like the ones the professionals have?

    First, do you know HTML? If you don't, then you can learn from this site: http://www.w3schools.com/ Second, you don't need to know HTML if you use a program like iWeb or even Dream Weaver that lets you just drag and drop. Third, it really depends on what your interest are. If you want to make a website about your self, or a band, or something like that. Fourth, you need to find a place to host your site. You can do one of those free webs, but you can't really put that much creativity in to your site. And if you want to make your own, you have to buy a domain from like godady.com or something like that. Just be awear that you will have to pay a fee every year. I hope that helped. :D

Good to know your keen on website. You don't need to know anything to own a website however if your planning to build / design one yes you need to know atleast something. You Can design a website's like professionals if you can hire a web designer he will do all the work for you. You can start a website about you, what you like, with some photos, your pets, friends etc. What do you like / dislike , maybe you can put your paintings / poems / any scribblings you like... You can do all these without paying a penny. There are free webhost's you need to find them. You can also learn HTML from www.w3schools.com if your interested. Also there are tools which can help you build html code without you knowing html for example ( Yahoo site Builder http://webhosting.yahoo.com/ps/sb/index.php) or http://pages.google.com/ Use google for the above tips you can learn.
