What is wrong with my Internet Explorer?

What is wrong with the css that makes the page display wrong in Internet Explorer?

  • It displays perfectly in firefox but in internet explorer, as usual, it's all wrong. I've tried everything I can think of but nothing seems to have worked. I know the coding is not perfect anyway, I'm moving the site between owners and it was made a long time ago. Can anyone tell me some fixed css? I only need it to work in ie 8
