How do i make an interactive index?

  • I'm looking for some form of interactive index for my wordpress website/ in a word document that I can use to place at the top of a page so that I can have the heading of each talking point in the index for one to click on and get directed to that portion of the page For example, say I have 5 paragraphs on one page and each parragraph has a header. I want an index of each header on the top of the page ie -paragraph one -paragraph two -paragraph three -paragraph four -paragraph five When you click on paragraph 4 I want it to scroll down the page to show paragraph four Also i want to be able to add at the end of each paragraph a "top of page button" for eas of navigation on the page. This is the second day ive been working on the first web site I've ever worked on. I understand somewhat what im looking at when I look at code but im very ignorant to it. so please explain big purple crayon style. I will settle for a lead to search, anything.. I'm just hitting dead ends on this. Hope I was clear enough and please forgive the grammar, punctuation,and spelling. thanks ahead of time.
