Where To Download Eclipse?

Java- Eclipse download won't run on W7 64 bit?

  • Hi I'm a new coding user and Eclipse works fine on my laptop (32bit vista) so I downloaded eclipse for 64 bit on my desktop and When I click eclipse I get this : a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or Java Development Kit JDK must be available in order to run eclipse. No Java virtual machine was found after searching the following locations: [the location where I extracted the zip file] javaw.exe in your current PATH Anyone know how to fix this? I don't like using my laptop for coding since it lags a lot and is slow. Ty

    have you downloaded the JDK for your java version? check your java version at http://java.com and then get the respective by googleing "java JDK<version>". If you already have the JDK, make sure that the path variable is set correctly by following the instructions here http://java.com/en/download/help/path.xml and the path you need to put in is C:\<bunchofstuff>\jdk<version>\bin. make sure that, if there's already a path set, but it's not the one you want, to NOT DELETE IT, edit and add a semicolon, then the new variable
