Where can I download free mp3's of background music/loops (for on-hold music)?

  • I need to create a looping voiceover track for our on-hold music at work. All I can find are websites that want to sell me a CD of royalty-free music, and websites that want to sell me 30 and 60 second loops for anywhere from $20 to $50 each - and that's not even long enough for our purposes. I know that Flash movie developers often use free ambient background music - where do you get it?

Hi there. Don't know if I answered this question but it sure sounds familiar. I mentioned http://www.opuzz.com There are some free tracks to start off with but if if it is for a paying customer you are working for, I won't recommend using free music as music is relatively cheap.

If you intend to "broadcast" the sounds you find in _any_ way at all, you will have to use royalty free things, or run the risk of a lawsuit. There is a difference between "royalty free" and "free to download" - make sure you understand it before getting into legal trouble. A lot of "free" media available on the internet actually means "pirated/stolen". Be careful. Rawlyn.
