How to connect emails together?

How do I connect my microwave to the internet so it sends me emails when my food is done?

  • Answer:

I'm not aware of any microwaves that directly connect to a wireless router so this would fall under "hard hack" (maybe a trip to Radio Shack will help). You'll need to intercept the processing and connect to a computer with your own developed device drivers that can parse the signals. You'd then need to hit an email relay to send the email out with the information. Seems a bit overkill since most items in the microwave cook fairly quickly and people are generally in range to hear the beep sound on completion of the cooking.

Just create a phone app that monitor the following: sound (microwave end beep), light (will be off if a co-worker cancels it), and GPS (if then, your co-worker steals your phone). Not only it should send e-mails, it must also update your Facebook status from "starving" to "nom nom nom", tweet the cooking time, update your timesheet, and remote shutdown your PC.

How far are you going to go in a few minutes? Unless you are making a Christmas pud! You know that beeping/ringing/buzzing noise? That tells you that its done wirelessly. P.S. What about the wife?

I doubt seriously that feat can be accomplished. But however if you figure out a way, do let us know.
