How much should I charge for graphic design freelancing?

Im a student and have been approached to design a website, (just design, no upload!) how much should i charge?

  • Im based in Esperance in Western Asutralia i just need a rough idea how much to charge, dont want to over charge or under! But i reckon it willbe to design a logo and a general layout for a 5 page spread. Please help!

    Check the hours spend to impliment the whole thing then multiply that by what u are worth per hour then u will get the .Its bit of mathematics if u could acknowledge that

hi.. i work for a web design company, we're based in UK. I think i would charge anything between 300-400 English pounds which it think is roughly 600-800 dollars Best of luck

Decide how long the job will take and have a look at what local contractors are charging. Just because you are a student, dont undersell yourself. Also, remember to factor in some time for adjustments, the client will never be happy first time :~)

You charge by the hour. And then you can do a quote and add charges for any materials or other services, if you itemise your quote they will be able to see what it's all for. Charge a bit extra, then if they want to haggle you down that's up to them. You should also take into account how well off the person you will be designing for is; ie how successful their business is. Hope this helps

It really depends on how well you can design. It's like asking, how much should I sell my car for? Well, depends on the car, and multiple factors. In the US a 5 page designed static site can be done for under $1000.00. We're talking a professional design, not a frontpage, sit in your garage type of website. Hope this answered your question. It depends how good you are. If you suck, charge nothing. If you're amazing, charge a lot. Think of your web-designing service just as you would any other product. If it's crap, people aren't going to be willing to pay!
