How do I create a website link that appears when my webcam is on, and disappears when the webcam is offline?
-
I have a webcam and want to create a link or image that appears on my website when the webcam is online, and disappears when the webcam is offline. The webcam creates a page called webcam.html on a dynamic IP address, when the webcam is off, the site webcam.html is also offline. I wanted to find a java code to check the link first and say whether the link is active or not, or to remove the link completely if it is inactive.

Answer:
make an iframe that opens that page. Test the iframe's URL to see if it's webcam.html { print the link } else { don't } or if you care about people with JS turned off if(iframe.src="http://404page") { o = document.getElementByID('idOFlink'); o.style.display = "none" } these are kind of rough ideas...but it's hard to do this on the client-side...
