the bank should already have a predominant colour they use for slips, letter heads, adverts whatever. that is the colour u should use. its like barclays, u know they r mostly blue, same with other banks, they usually have a colour already so use that as a background. the name of the bank would give u an inspiration for what logo to use. but remember not to be too plain and direct but let it be something that needs to be looked at intelligently to figure out what the logo is.
