Any websites with many animated photos (gif format?

Questions for graphic artist &/or website builders about uploading images (.png) to websites?

• Hello and thank you for your time : ) First of all, I would like to know if I must use a Photo Hosting site such as Photobucket or Dropbox in order to easily upload my images to websites that I am building? The sites I am building are for clients and myself as well. The reason I mention clients is because I am wondering if I will need to buy a membership to a hosting site in order to use their services for clients websites. Do you know? I understand that I could probably write out the HTML myself but time is always of the essence and I would prefer to not need to write out the directions every single time I need to upload an image. Sadly though ... when I upload .png images to Photobucket (or Dropbox) and then from there to my website the images are very blurry on the websites but look fine on Photobucket. However, when they are in a .gif format they don't appear blurry but they do look "pixelated" or the edges aren't smooth. So, .gif will not suffice for larger file sizes. currently I am making tag lines with just text at a size of 338x45 and 246x18 so I'm able to fake it for now with the .gif I found out that there's a problem with the HTML. For some unknown reason to me Photobucket, I assume, is apparently subtracting 3 pixels from my images. e.g. the 338x45 image in Photobuckets editing section shows up as 338x42 and other times as 672x87 for an original image of 338x45 ... ??? arg! I am assuming this is what is causing my images to look blurry on the sites. However, when I put the 246x18 image into Photobuckets editing it appeared as 246x18. Very odd to me. So, maybe this has nothing to do with changing the HTML - ?? Do you know how I can fix this issue? Is there a better image hosting site for my needs? Or do I need something other than an Image Hosting site? What's the best, quickest and easiest way to upload images to websites I am building? I have been learning things on my own as I cannot afford college classes at this time. So, your help is very much appreciated. Also, the site I am building is a Wordpress.org and when my partner goes to enter the information about the image it says something like image20%by20% and when that happens we know the image won't work or come out clear & crisp. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could please help me to learn how to upload .png images to my website that will not appear blurry or distorted in any way. I have searched and searched all over the place for the right answer but have come up empty everywhere I turn. :( It's like there's a "Secrete Handshake" that I can't be told unless I know the Secret Handshake ... lol So, thank you loads n loads for your help & time ~ you're greatly appreciated!

  I think your images are displaying badly because your web browser is resizing them. You need to resize your images to the exact size that is specified in your HTML code before uploading them to Photobucket. Also, it is good practice to host the images on the same server that the website is hosted on because if Photobucket were to have a problem it is possible that one of your client's websites would be displaying text properly but it's images could be missing or one of Photobucket's error messages could be showing in their place.
