How hard is it to build a website on Go Daddy?

I tried using Filezilla to transfer basic test HTML file to my go daddy domain. Why do I get a forbidden error?

I've been trying to build a simple website for fun. I use filezilla and have a domain hosted by GO Daddy. I'm totally new to this. Please help. Thanks.

It must be the folder called public_html. If a file with same name exists, it will popup a box where you can opt to overwrite file, cancel and more. Possibly the folders have the wrong CHMOD. Try specifying a root directory to upload to, usually found in the FTP settings. It's either going to be /public , or just a right backslash " / ".
