Please give me the best tips!. I was wondering if $ 1000 per month is realistic? I live in Dallas TX. Thanks

Yes, definitely you can, and $1000 per month is probably quite realistic, but it'll take time to get there. You need to learn HTML, CSS, Javascript, and probably some graphic skills like Photoshop or something like that. Learning that stuff well enough to make money from web design will likely take more than a year though, so I wouldn't expect to earn anything the first year.

Of course you can. www.dice.com has great listings. in 2001 I was making $937 a WEEK!! And they were bat-crap crazy for WORD!!! $25/hour and they wanted word!! I was using Photoshop and they said: OH NO!!! We want it in word!!! Apparently that is what the 'veeps' could handle. $25/hour, dumb it waaaaaaaay down Sure thing. Anyway, go for it. Here I am, xml, html, cold fusion, photoshop, corel draw, arts and letters--- nope just word!!! I almost did a 'spit-take'. "bazooka for a mosquito" Relax. It will be fine.

I suppose so, 250 a week seems realistic. Building a portfolio is Making a portfolio website, and having websites you have done listed in it. To show potential clients your ability with past clients. You should learn HTML/CSS/Photoshop/PHP as a BARE minimum, and i mean absolute bare. Feel free to email me if you have any other questions or need guidance on anything else involving this :)

Having a portfolio will obviously help in getting new clients - they can see what you've done. As far as what to learn goes, do you plan on just designing the user interface (the web pages), or doing the backend programming aswell(for dynamic websites)? If you just plan on doing the design, and getting a programmer to do the backend stuff, then you would need to know html, css, javascript, flash/silverlight helpful If you are going to do the entire website yourself, and its a dynamic website, then you will need to know at least one scripting language. You will need to learn at least one of: php; ASP.NET; C#, VB.NET, ruby on rails, python....there are many more... Also, you will need to know database design and SQL (if the site requires a database)

you might be better off going to college to learn.work for someone else for awhile to learn the tricks of the trade.

Sure why not! And you can like take a web design course or something to learn even more and help you through it....

you can do anything if you just believe in yourself.
