How to fix http 404 error?

Web development problem! Http 404 in VS? (Page not found)?

• Hi, I recently re saved all my files for my relatively small uncomplex site (nothing on it) as aspx extensions instead of html so that I could begin implementing further functionality. I change the hyperlinks as well so that the navigation would work. The problem is since saving the files as aspx extensions, whenever I try to run the site I get: Server Error in '/' Application. The resources cannot be found [the http 404 error] Requested URL /Main.html I have no files now ending in .html. This makes me think something else in the application is still refering to the original extensions? How can I fix this? (There is no actual issues with the pages, just accessing them). Cheers Kris

  are the file permissions correct? on our server I ve noticed that most .php files will only run when there permissions are set to owner read/write ,group and others set to read only. never used a windows server
