how to make Textboxes transparent?

How do you make a .BMP file transparent?

  • I know how to make it transparent, but the problem is, i don't know how to FULLY make it transparent. I use PHOTOSHOP CS3 Extended and I have used the "magic pink" color to make my 24x24 icon transparent. Problem is, around the stuff is thin pink likes that won't go away, how do i get rid of those pink lines?

    To make a transparent bitmap you must make sure that the bitmap has been converted to Indexed 256 colour. 24bit Bitmaps will not make a transparent image. Make sure that pixel (0,0) in the top left most part of the picture has the colour you want to be transparent. If you have a background colour that you do not want to be transparent put another colour at pixel (0,0), preferably 1 that doesn't appear in the rest of the image. Some image editors allow you to add a colour to the palette if needed. In some cases setting colour 0 in the colour index also can help. Mod's Answer is absolutely wrong. It's Anti-Aliasing that got you into this mess. Try and remove the Pink color so that there is no background color. Then when you PaintBucket the new background color, make sure AntiAliasing is not checked. Hopefully you saved the Layers before you did the Pink background. Otherwise you in for some heavy duty editing to get rid of the AntiAlias pink...
