How Do You Put Two Pictures On Top Of Each Other?

How do I put two pictures into one on Photoshop?

  • I forgot to put this - when I try to copy and paste, the picture I'm pasting ends up with a black background. I want it to be black.

  • Answer:

select tool then select on pic and cntrl+c then open blank canvas and cntrl+v and do the same with the second

Make sure the color modes on both pictures are the same, and that you have the correct layer selected. Image > Mode > (Typically RGB Color) And then drag one picture across to the other. Or you can CTRL+A then cut (CTRL-X) or copy (CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL-V) the picture onto the other one.

Well, if you want to be able to see both pictures side by side, transparency should not be a problem. Create a "canvas" large enough to hold both pictures (resize picture if necessary), then create a layer (drag it behind the pictures, or below in the layers window) and fill it whit white using the paint bucket. If you want to put a part of one picture over a part of the other, you need to give each picture a white background to make them opaque, then you can use the lasso or other area selection tool, to move one element over the other. Good luck!

On the right of the screeen there is a window called "layers" Ensure that you have the correct layer selected before doing anything else - otherwise you are basically trying to marquee thin air - which is why it may not work. Once you are on the correct layer, use the marquee to select, then press the "ctrl" button, and then afterwards (with CTRL still pressed) press the "c" button. Then select the window with the other picture in it and press ctrl and then "v" at the same time.

Try changing the canvas size: http://www.ehow.com/how_2215996_change-canvas-size-photoshop.html Then copy and paste the other image into the one with the canvas size changed. Use the move tool to move the layer for the pasted image: http://artist.tizag.com/photoshopTutorial/photoshopmovetool.php

PS can be SUCH a challenge, but this one isn't too bad :) Open both images. Put your cursor on one of the images (the one that you want to move to another). Go up to, "Layers," and duplicate the layer. Then, click (onto the duplicate) and drag (it over onto the first picture). This is important to remember, though it may seem like minutia... When you have BOTH images in the same frame and you want to work with ONE of the layers, make sure that you are ON that layer (I keep the LAYERS tool open on the right, so that I will know). I can't tell you how many times I have painted and painted and painted, wondering why it isn't showing up and realizing that I'm on the WRONG layer :( There are prolly other ways to do this, but this is the way that *I* know. Enjoy :)
