What is a good caving website?

Im developing a website. What is a good charge per hour for a stunning website designer?

  • I want the website to be incredibly good, so i'm willing to pay a fair price. However, do you pay the designer per hour, per website, or what? And what is a good price? Any info is appreciated! Thanks - Brad

  • Answer:

an excellent website such as http://www.dolcegabbana.it/ http://www.ysl.com/ cost around $10,000 - $15,000 and is better to charge per website and features than per hour. An average website such as http://www.yahoo.com/ runs on the low $5,000 and a mediocre website such as http://www.pcapex.com/ goes for about $1,000 use this as a reference only, prices vary by content, products, or even country. (this one was done for $23,000) http://www.eccentris.com/

For a great web site, I would think a $1000.00 would be a fair price. This is also assumming that you are providing the tools to work with, or you are hiring someone that has the tools to do the work. What I think of as a great web site is, one that has dynamic features on it like forms and stuff. Also, Flash animation for the introduction of the web page and for the buttons on the web page.

I agree with that guy, what good is something that looks like my twelve yearold brother could do a better job if it took him 58 hours to complete, then if it looks real cool, and good and only took 25 hours to complete

I am a website designer and have charged by the hour in the past. Mainly, I did that because of the nature of the site (database driven) that I had to do some 'data-entry' type work. However, I usually charge by the job. That way, I don't even have to keep track of hours and if I get stuck on something b/c of some script error, the customer doesn't pay for it. Also, they know what they're getting into BEFORE the designer does all of the work.

I'd prefer to pay by the website. You do the work, and if it is as good as you say, you make the money. It doesn't matter how long it takes you and as you get better at it, you will make more and more.

Never charge by the hour. If it is by site and a good site that is XHTML complaint with 3 pages should be about $500, and about $150 per page after that.If you intened to have shockwave or flash designed as well expect to be charged $300-$400 per presentation
