How to make html email!!!??

i was wondering how i could make an html email newsletter that would say everyones name who i am sending it to. (i mean i have an email list, and i want peoples names to pop up in the email, for example joe for joe's email, kathy for kathy's email, etc.) Thanks

Answer:
simple token substitution using something like perl or php would work. In php you could read a message template in html, do a string substitution for the name and then send the email... all from php.
