Do they still make the 80's/90's continuous computer paper?

How to make images on paper appear on computer?

  • I am building my online store, and I designed a logo.It looks pretty good on paper(I drew it with markers and it's very clear and simple). But when I tried to draw it with my tablet, things got complicated and it turned out terrible.I do know that you can use scanner, but how do you actually do that?like explain me the process? and if I decided to use a scanner, will the image be very clear/clean and exactly like the one on my paper? will my image be able to be looked lik these ones? http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b228/soundfxsandoverdramatics/plushiecakesss.png http://www.mikeyion.com/blog_images/icons/cupcake.jpg and do you know how did they do those images? how come they look so smooth edged, clear, and HQ? THANK YOU!!!

Hi Nicole, I wouldn't buy a scanner for 1 logo, I'd just hand it over to a shop like Kinkos to do it. But if you are asking how a scanner works, it's really simple. All you do is open click the scan button from the scanner toolbox (software most scanners come with) and then the file appears in the folder. By default most scanners scan on a 300DPI resolution (a quality good enough for printing) however, you can always reduce the size with any photo editing program or you can simply use http://www.picnik.com/ to edit the photo. Enjoy

Use a scanner and set it to scan at the highest possible DPI. Mine is 600. Everything I scan looks exactly like the original.

Q: How they did those images, and how they look so good? They probably used a graphics program such as Adobe Photoshop or Gimp. It's slightly different creating logos on paper than using a computer graphics program. In a computer graphics program, you can create multiple layers, and place them on top of each other to create interesting effects. You can also use primitive circles and other shapes by layering them in creative ways using transparent settings and layers. I've seen several tutorials on creating logos using Adobe Photoshop. Try using a search engine on "tutorial logo photoshop". Q: How can I use a scanner to put my paper logo in my computer? If found scanner prices in the range of $150 to $250 dollars on shopping.yahoo.com. Though, it's probably not worth it for you to scan just one image. FedEx-Kinkos will probably charge around 40 cents a minute to do it yourself. Even if it takes you an hour to learn how to operate it, scan it, save it, and email it, that's only $24 dollars. The basic concepts for scanning a document are: (1) Open a graphics program (or scanner program) (2) Place the paper in the scanner (3) "Acquire" a new image from the scanner - by selecting that option from the graphics program (varies from program to program) (4) Wait for the scanner to scan the image into the graphics program (5) Modify the now visible image in the graphics program (6) Save it to a flash drive or (7) Email it to yourself.

You could use a scanner at the Walmart Photo Centre, and put it onto disk so you can upload it onto the computer. Also, if your digital camera takes clear photos, you could always do it that way too. That's what I do sometimes. When you get it onto your computer by either method, you can open it in a photo editing program and trace over it.

They most likely used photoshop to make those images you listed above, they don't necessarily look hand drawn. A Tablet PC would be the easiest way to achieve that goal, but you said it didn't turn out. The scanner might work better but I doubt it (if you try scanning set the resolution to maximum available so you get the maximum DPI (Dots per Inch). Try using GimpShop just google GimpShop, this is like a free open source photoshop that might help you achieve your goal. Hope this helps...

A scanner is the way to go, but you don't have to go buy one just for the logo. See if you can find a friend who has a scanner or all-in-one printer and scan it in there. Then email it to yourself or put it on a flash drive (see the tip below before doing either one). A tip: The scanned file could be a huge one (11 megabytes) because it gets scanned in in .bmp format. Use Microsoft Paint to read the file in, then save it as a .jpg format file. It will be much smaller. Hope that helps.

yes, using a scanner would probably be the best thing. Once you get on the computer you can crop it, edit it, do whatever. the most that could happen to your picture is that it might be just a little bit more blurry. I wouldn't worry about it though

Line it up with the lines on the scanner as said on it, close the lid, scan, its basically copying, but putting it on ur computer

images and illustration styles like that, that are very smooth and clear are usually VECTOR graphics....it is different from RASTER graphics that youd get from photoshop. raster graphics are pixel based...if you draw a circle in a raster application and zoom in very close you will see the edges will always be pixelated. vector graphics are based on mathematical equations... if you draw a circle in a vector application (like adobe illustrator or fireworks) the circle object isnt in pixels...if you zoom in real close you will see NO pixels along the edge. also, if you take a jpeg...and increase the size in photoshop, the picture will be messed up,... a jpeg has a fixed number of pixels, if you enlarge it, it just gets blocky and pixelated. if you open a vector illustration... usually in .ai, .png format and increase its size in adobe illustrator or another vector app. the illustration will look perfect no matter how much you enlarge it...this is because the shapes are being recalculated to the new size. so when a vector graphic is exported to a jpeg...it Does get turned into pixels...but it still keeps that sharp "look" **edit there is a free open source vector graphic editor called "inkscape" that you can give a try to see what it is about
