What do people want on a website?

I would suggest you create a site about something you are passionate about and know about. Your knowledge and passion for that subject will come through on the site and make it more interesting to people will similar interests. Think about the type of people who will visit your site, men, women, children, teens, adults, seniors and what they will be looking for and what they want. Creating a website does involve alot of work so if you can get visitors to contribute with tips/advice, instructions, reviews etc. then it will reduce your workload and get people involved and be partly user created such as this site. You want people to keep returning to your site not just visit it once and move on. Give people something to come back for, new info, pics, news, forums. Think about what sites are popular, facebook, myspace, ebay, yahoo answers, youtube. they all have lots of stuff on them, lots of info and are constantly changing, try to bear this in mind when making a site. You can add a chatroom to your site for free, if it is popular people will keep coming back to chat to people they meet in your chatroom

I would say porn but we've got a surplus on them as it is. Don't do social networking, but maybe something doing with current events. But NO talk about bailouts, people got sick of that last year.

Well, most people like what they see so make your graphics, layouts and text stand out to give as much attention as possible. That captures the attention of viewers into an effective website. Sketch your design on paper first and then use the web application you're using once you're certain about how you want your web page to look. Remember, layout is mandatory in making a web page so visualise how you want borders, colours, links, text and headings to appear. Keep updating the latest in gossip like celebrities and what goes on in the world. Most young people like internet games such as http://www.gamesloth.com/ so that might give you an idea to add your own games. Throw in some educational games for the young ones like crosswords, puzzles, conundrums, hangman etc. Adults would be more into research for their desired subject like www.wikipedia.org. Maybe add something similar to this website or Youtube where people get to express their opinions and points of view in your web page. What general information would you like to know about websites? You are thinking about creating a website but don't know what for? Test colors to figure out which ones cause the links and info to pop out. Nothing bright. Keep it soft colors. With that being said, my suggestion is to create an ebony p0rn0graphy site. The p0rn thing WILL bring visitors, and the people are dark skinned... very easy on the eyes.

It depends on what audience you are focusing on. Young? Old? Different people like different things. What do you like in a website? Whatever you want is bound to bring interest to some group of people. Test different themes out; different colors, layouts, etc. See what you like best. Ask friends what they think about it. Experiment. You will fail a bunch of times, but that failing will pay off when you find the perfect recipe.

Something about Celebrity News... Like only things that are important not like things like Naomi Watts was spotted in Beverly Hills... Nobody cares about that... Things like Naomi Watts beat up an old lady...

you cant go wrong with porn. Maybe a forum or just a large chat where people can talk about nothing.
