I want to be a video games designer?

im in year 10 at the moment, and for my options i have taken ICT, geog and German, i really want to be a video games designer, what subjects would i need to take in the 6th form/college. Also what would i take at Uni, if anyonre knows aswelll what would the pay be if you are skilled, also what grades would i need, the most important ones

Minimum requirments for nearly every game company I have ver seen: Bachellors of Computer Science 5+ Years professional C++ development. 3+ Years game development. NOTE: THe above requirements are for a game developer. If by "designer" you mean models, textures, story lines, etc. then the requirements will be more on teh art side and grahpics design program efficency.
