When was Google Earth last updated?

How often do the pictures on google earth get updated?

  • Answer:

Updated is a relative term. The earth doesn't get scanned all at once by satellites, so Google gets updates whenever they get them. In other words, one patch of ground could be 4 years old, the one next to it could have been taken last week. They mix multiple sources together as best as they can.

Never... those pictures are from years ago... I guess if a satelitte photographed everything again they could update, but they do not update it regularly or anything like that.

It not like never as answered by one gentleman above. They do update in some time interval like 2 years or so. My house is 2 yrs old and I can see my roof. hazy though!! Also during Tsunami on the coasts of Sri Lanka.. They showed 2 yrs ago photos and now photos.... So they do update but not sure the timings.

It was updated a few weeks ago, The airport I work at was really low definition, and fuzzy. Now it is clear, I can also say for a fact that the picture is less than a year old by looking at the apron around our terminal, it was redone in concrete last year and is very obvious that the current photo is with the new apron, also our new work truck is visible and we got it last fall.

ERRRRRR

I guess that it depends on when new information is available. A hotel near my work was completed in 2003, and if you check out Google Earth, you can still see construction vehicles there and no parking lot yet.
