How to find the host of any website?

How can I find a company to host my website for free? ?

  • I've never created a website before and I wanted to give it a shot for fun. Most company's I've looked at charge $15/year for a domain and $10/month to host it. For an amateur who's never created a site before that's a lot of money. How can I avoid these fees? Is there a way I can get my site hosted for free?

you can use geocities.com it is run by yahoo and you can use your yahoo answers name for geocities since theyre both yahoo. yes but you wont get a domain name or be featured on google. freewebs.com is the best in my opinion. then you can us co.nr which gets rid of the annoying blue bar at the bottom of the page and gives you the nice co.nr at the end of your link to make it look more pro example: mynewsite.co.nr doesnt that sound alot better then www.freewebs.com/mynewsite =)
