How much programming is required for financial engineering?

What are the programming languages that are required to be learnt by an electronic engineering student?

  • Which is the most important besides C and C++? Any websites that help in learning these languages?

  • Answer:

They may teach you Verilog and perhaps some assembly in the more advanced classes. Verilog is pretty easy, but assembly can take some getting used to. Ive also seen some departments teach visual basic to their students.

C#, C++, Java, vB, Pascal, COBOL, RPG, and Fortran are the minimal requirements. While C# and C++ are the most common, the most useful programming language is Java, and the easiesty to learn is vB. http://www.norvig.com/21-days.html Try there for some helpful tips on learning.
