How to output data in xml?

Need help understanding input data and output processes?

  • Before I begin, this does involve a homework assignment. Yet I'm not asking for answers, I'm looking for help from someone who has a better understanding of this than I do. I can't learn if I don't figure it out myself.. I just need some guidance. This assignment is the form of a chart and is broken down into "Input" "Processes" and "Output". I need to identify a processes that makes it possible for me to keep track of a DVD collection. I actually need three of them, but I'm not asking for answers, I just need an example of what a process would be. The example given in class was "Get user input", which seems logical and fitting for the DVD scenario also. So, if I use that as the first process (get user input), the input should be something along the lines of the DVD's title, genre, and maybe.. director or length..or both? Does that sound about right? And if that is so, what should the output look like? The assignment asks me to identify a logical name for each output data item, along with the type of output data (like integer, real number, text). So, would the output be something like Display DVD title and "dvdtitledisplay" with the output data being considered text, rather than a number or integer? After that is squared away, what would be another logical process? After it collects the DVD information, I want it to...sort the information somehow? Does that sound right? I'm a bit confused. Hopefully someone could shed some light onto this dilemma.

i will try to help you if i can but it does sound confusing. You could ask your teacher to explain it again? So first of all you want the DVD input, this could be a user input for the title, genre, etc but people might find this annoying. So you might have it check the internet instead. The output Display DVD title would then be considered text as you many have numbers and letters in a dvd title. Then you might have it prompt the user to ask them how they want the data sorting, A-Z, Z-A, date, etc. The output would then be a list of DVD titles sorted by what ever option the user chose. it has to be said though that i don't really understand what you need to do here and asking someone at college for help would be a wise choice. good luck
