Which country/city/state have the most engineering jobs?

Depends. California is heavy on Computer Eng., I know Washington State is in a similar boat. Virginia-D.C. area is known for hiring a lot of engineers (government jobs). Alabama (Proving Grounds, Army base) hires a lot of demolition-type, aero, mech, and chemical engineers to built, test, design, and modify weapons. Florida I heard WAS a hot place to be a civil engineer, although there are a lot of jobs if you're willing to work with water and sewage. Up in the New England area there are a lot of career opportunities for chemical and manufacturing/mech engineer types due to the high concentration of factories. Do your homework and be prepared to move are the biggest pieces of advice I can give you.

Come down to Houston, Texas! The recession hasn't hit us too bad. The cost of living is low. The pay is good. There are lots of engineering related jobs. Some companies you might consider are Shell, Chevron, Wood Group, National Oilwell Varco, Dril-Quip, Citgo. There's lots more! Most big companies like this are located on the west side of Houston along the "Energy Corridor." Good luck.

The most work is in New York city. But right now its hard to find work because of the recession. If I was going to move to the states I would only move right now to New York or Seattle.
