What can I do to improve my website?

I'm trying to find my own website by search and it doesn't come up. What can I do to improve my chances?

• I'm a guitar maker with a new website. I don't want to use spam devices. My website is and will be educational as well as showing what I do. I must have put something in the opening page that Yahoo! doesn't respond to in a search. Where can I find help in this?

  OK. There are two things I can think of. First, make sure to submit your site to the Yahoo! search engine. The link is http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html?fr=FP-tab-web-t. The second is that you just recently added your site and so..it takes a while to get into the system. I know someone who is fairly Internet savy and he says it takes about a year to start getting hits on a major search engine. It looks like Yahoo! may have ways you can pay around that, though. You may want to hit the Google search engine, too, since a lot of other searech engines will piggy-back off of it. You can try contacting other websites for links, though, and that might get you some traffic until then. When you do put your site in the search engine, remember to add META-tags onto your website to get more hits. I can't remember off of the top of my head how to do them just now, but if you type it into a search engine, you should be able to figure it out.
