Will a iphone 3gs digitizer work on a iPhone 3?

i have a spare digitizer for a iphone 3GS and my friends has a iPhone 3 would the screen work on it?
Answer:

Unfortunately no. Not only are the connectors a little different, the 2 screens don't can't be mixed and matched because of the way each interprets touch. I've tried using on on the other...and have had problems ranging from the touch screen not working AT ALL...to screen not working properly (touch one app, someother app will open. type A, it will type F.) and parts of the screen not working. So unfortunately you can't. though...your friend should be able to find a spare digitzer for 8$ on ebay. or a pre-assembled one for about 12-15$. Hope that helps.
