Is "released from customs" the last step in shipping?

Can anyone explain each step of this shipping tracking process to me? I don't understand the what they mean?

  • So I bought an item off of ebay and i got tracking information but i don't know what some of the terms mean, like what is the delivery office? Is it the place where i'll have to pick it up, or is it customs or what.. here is the full list... 22-Sep-2008 Hong Kong Item posted and is being processed. 22-Sep-2008 Hong Kong Processed for departure. 23-Sep-2008 Hong Kong The item left Hong Kong for its destination on 23-Sep-2008 24-Sep-2008 Canada Arrived and is being processed. 24-Sep-2008 Canada Pending customs inspection. 24-Sep-2008 Canada In transit. 25-Sep-2008 Canada Arrived the delivery office and is being processed. **(this is the step I meant i didn't understand<--) what would the delivery office be?

  • Answer:

It usually means the local package depot. What will happen next is (a) they'll attempt delivery and leave a card if htey can't or (b) they'll phone you or send you a letter telling you it's available. Note that there MAY be customs charges that they will want paid... either before delivery or sometimes after.
