Should I get the blackberry 8530 or the tour if I'm on Sprint?
-
I know that the curve 2 has a more consumer approach and the tour has a more business approach but being that the labels consumer and business mean "low quality" and "high quality." So those with either phone if this is true. Is the curve low quality? Does it break? I suppose you could call me more of a consumer user than a business user but I still want high quality. So should I save $100 and get the new curve or is the tour significantly better than the curve and worth the cost?

Answer:
The Tour is a world phone and has a trackball If you travel out of the country often it is the phone for you. The 8530 is a smaller and (slightly) better version of the 8330 and has a trackpad Compare them here: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/devices/compare/product-attr-compare.jsp?products=1786&products=1667

The curve is a entry level phone. No REV-A 3G, no flash, and its not as capable as the Tour. That being said, wait. The new Tour 9650 will be released in MAy. It will not be called the Tour anymore, but actually the 9650 Bold. It will have a Trackpad, and wifi.

ANY phone can break, so I'll ignore that question. The tour is a world phone, its unneccessary for an everyday person if you ask me . The curve is the newest curve and has so OK features, still not as good as the curve 8900 and the bold, the curve is missing a couple very BASIC features, nothing major but it has the new trackpad and the tour has the trackball, if that matters. The tour DOES NOT have Wifi and the Curve does, if you have a data plan wifi really shouldnt matter because its rarely ever availiable anyways! The Tour has a better camera which is 3.2 mp and the curve has 2.0 which is my opinion was a HUGE mistake on blackberry's part to downgrade the camera on the newer curve and give the older curve a better camera. Blackberry is running out of ideas they're going backwards making senseless changes to phone because they obviously cant think of new things and they're beating around the bush when it comes to putting out a PERFECT phone.

I would recommend the Curve if you don't need the phone for international travel. I think you'll like the trackpad, and the Curve has external media controls. I know people who are happy with both devices, though, so perhaps you want to go to a Sprint store and play with both to see which you prefer.
