How to connect iPod Touch to Wireless Network?

My ipod touch "asks" for a password when I try to connect to my home wireless network. ?

  • I never set a password for my home network though? What should I do?

  • Answer:

I am assuming you just put the wireless system up & didn't do or change any settings as far as the SSID (name) or security password is concerned. So someone could as easily logged into your system & locked you out of it. I know its possible as I could have done it to many of the non-secured wireless systems in my area (but never chose to do it). I am not saying that's what happened here, but it is a possibility. If I were you I'd reset it & give it a password. Yes it will be a little delay in going on the net, but it will prevent someone else from doing what I described above preventing you from using it period.

You can try and connect without typing anything in the password box. If that doesn't work, just connect to your router and set a password, and connect using that password. Routers generally have the password default as: password

When you set up your wireless network, you have a password. You need that password to access your options and settings online. It's your internet's password. That's what you enter.

Well maybe you did or its a WPA key. Set your wireless to an open network and see if that works. Give it a try.
