Blackberry Issue.. Please help!?
-
I accidentally wiped all the applications/software on my Blackberry 9700. It sounds stupid, but I was installing a language pack using Blackberry Desktop Manager, but I noticed that it was also going to install a bunch of other things that I didn't want. So, I tried to cancel the installation. But, Desktop Manager wouldn't cancel the installation, so I decided to close Desktop Manager. This caused Desktop Manager to stop responding, so I pulled out Task Manager and killed the process. When I re-opened Desktop Manager, it first said that it had a problem connecting to my Blackberry. Then I tried to turn on my Blackberry, and I noticed that it wouldn't turn on. The battery was full prior to the installation, so it was not an issue with lack of power. I pulled out the battery and reinserted it. The Blackberry still wouldn't turn on. So I went back to Desktop Manager, and it notified me that I had to install the Blackberry OS and the Blackberry Core Applications. So I did. But, I noticed that all the other pre-installed applications (and obviously the ones I installed) were gone (like password keeper, or blackberry messenger). Luckily, I have backed up most of the data within the Blackberry prior to this mess, but I'm unable to restore that data onto the phone, because it keeps saying that there are connection issues between the Blackberry and Desktop Manager. In short, is there a way to restore the Blackberry to factory settings? Is there a way to fix the connection issue so I can restore the pre-saved backup data to my Blackberry? Thanks...

Ohhh, I hate cell phone problems,,, I'm having them myself with my stupid iphone! I found these support forums, and they all have suggestions on how to restore a Blackberry. http://forums.crackberry.com/f61/how-do-i-reset-phone-factory-settings-1501/ http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-9700-series-discussion-bold-2/211096-restore-factory-settings.html http://www.blackberryvsiphone.com/blackberry-curve/how-to-restore-blackberry-curve-to-factory-settings If those don't help, I highly recommend live chat with tech support. I generally have good luck with that. There is a list of toubleshooting ideas and FAQ's here, as well as a link to chat with someone. https://www.wireless.att.com/support/content.do?page=support-home Good luck. Hope this helps! What u need to do is go back to your desktop manager and check all those boxes you unchecked thats all u have to do... when it comes to applications it not a matter of re-installing its just checking or unchecking the boxes on ur desktop manager, i did it before. I unchecked my bbm by accident so it was gone off my phone, i went back and checked the box and it ended up back on my phone. I forgot if you check it to erase it or if you check it to keep it but when you see the list off applications you'll notice that if they're all checked (but theyre not on ur phone) that means uncheck the ones u want) to get them back on ur phone ...please email me an let me kinow if this works!!!
