How to program a Sprint blackberry curve 8530?

Multiple page texts on Blackberry Curve 8530?

  • On my Blackberry Curve 8530 for Sprint for some reason I can't send multiple page texts. When i hit 160 characters it says field is full even if i want to type more. I always get this and it makes me angry because my old phone which wasn't even a smartphone was able to send multiple page texts. I though this was a basic feature that was included in all cell phones. Don't say just send an MMS because those aren't threaded and are their own messages which I don't like. Do you think I could bring my phone to Sprint and they would give me a different phone because of this because it just really bothers me that a smartphone doesn't have such a basic SMS feature. Thanks.

  • Answer:

Even with other smartphones that let you type more than the standard 160 characters, it actually still *sends* everything in separate messages of 160 chars each. So if you type 200 chars, the recipient will still get that as two separate texts. KWIM? If you're looking for something to let you just type it all at once, you can download the free app CrunchSMS and it will automatically split the message for you once you hit Submit. It has some other cool features as well, but since all you asked about was the continuous typing capability, I won't get into the other stuff. Here's the link to CrunchSMS through BB App World: http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/reviews/4736?page=3 Hope this helps you!
